Roberto Ascione
President, Razorfish Healthware


Roberto started out as a digital entrepreneur, pioneering the development of digital technologies in healthcare.  He brings to PHCG more than 16 years of experience in health-related consulting, media, and communications as he sees from a human-digital perspective.  Today Roberto serves as the President of Razorfish Healthware.


Roberto started his career in 1996, founding Healthware in Italy to provide health informatics services.  In 1999, he founded Healthware Technology and a year later, he founded Healthware Multimedia—a partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi Health.


In 2002, he became President of Healthware Group, offering a full range of services in digital healthcare communications across Europe.  Healthware was acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2007 and rebranded Publicis Healthware International (PHI).  Between 2007 and 2011, multiple units (eHealth Solutions, iMed Studios, Digital District) were added to Roberto’s team.


Passionate for medicine, computer science, and human-technology interactions Roberto believes strongly that technology will be the most impactful driver of change in the healthcare industry.  He nurtures this vision by speaking at a number of conferences, as well as contributing to several research organizations.


Born and raised in Italy, Roberto transverses the globe.  In his role as a Global President, he enjoys the mash-up of different cultures along the way.  Roberto’s education is in medical science and he holds a degree in marketing and communications.
